The System Event Monitor (SEM) provides real-time access to events generated by the DMS MSL switching system. SEM has an Integrated Filer Component (IFC) (Top Left) which is used to filter events into or out of the Abbreviated Event Viewer AEV (Top Right) .  SEM also allows you to create event triggers on any particular event or number of events within a specified time interval. The notifications for the event triggers may be one or all of the following:

 - Contact closure
 - Email message
 - SNMP trap.

The Integrated Event Manager (IEM) (Bottom Right) allows you to view multiple events and attach notes to key events in chronological order of actions taken.  The System Event Monitor is also included in the report wizard, which allows you to quickly search for previously collected events containing a particular hardware or software resource.
